YOUTH

As children, the two are always by one another. Clem, being the more outgoing of the children, often made sure to include Val in everything that she was doing. Never wanting him to feel left out, and also wanting him to be able to explore the world the way she did, the young girl found a way to share everything between the two of them.

In their youth, Val is much more shy and timid than in his adult years. Despite this, he does his best around the farm, and for Clem and her father. He’s a boy who takes his time with the things he’s involved in, but he’ll always put all his effort into everything he does.

. . .

Both of them love the farm and being around nature. In their free time, they’ll explore the nearby forest areas, and play with the magical creatures that hide within the trees and bushes. Though from time to time, they find their way to the neighboring town just outside of their home. There, they attend local markets, and barter their crops and produce for “small treasures”.

ADULTHOOD

As adults, the two live vastly different lives from one another. While one travels to chase his dreams, the other stays just as she was, settling right where “home” once was for the two of them.

Although distance grows far and wide, the two often exchange letters to one another. Filling each other in on their daily lives, future plans, and past memories, there’s not a day that goes by where the other is not thought of.

. . .

The two, while longing to be by one another, do not wish to burden the other with their feelings. Both wish for the other to pursue their dreams, and neither has the courage to say anything otherwise . . .

For now, they settle for occasional visits— cherishing any moment they have together.

❀ Setting: A mid-fantasy world inspired by Stardew Valley, Rune Factory & Harvest Moon.

❀ Motifs: Orange/Blues, plants & animals.

※ Note: The two have a shared pet turtle that they’ve raised together since youth. Otherwise, they are often drawn with orb-like creatures of varying designs! These creatures are forest/nature spirits that have become fond of the two. Val’s spirit resembles a dumpling & has a matching scar while Clem’s appears similar to a small bear.

In their world, magic usage is split into two categories: traditional & reformed.

• Those who utilize more traditional forms of magic are much more in tune with nature. They believe strongly in the circle of life, and often use more conservative mediums (potions, spells, etc.) in a much smaller scale. In a general sense, traditional usage is what is normally seen in more high-fantasy genres.

• Those dabbling in reformed magic are often seen as taking a more modernized approach. In this case, people have begun trying to harvest magic into a more consumable medium. The objective is ultimately to be able to use magic for future infrastructure, and technology— A more developed future. This is more seen in low-to-medium-fantasy genres.
